1982-1985: graduates from the Royal College of Art, London

1984: receives a scholarship to the Berlin Academy of Arts

1986: opens his own design studio

1988: installation "Some new items for the house I", Berlin

1989: installation "Some new items for the house II" for Vitra,shown in Milan

1991: begins working with Vitra, designing chairs, tables and sofas

1993: installation for the Museum of Applied Art Vienna

1995: solo exhibition in the architectural center "Arc en rêve", Bordeaux

several teaching positions and leads various workshops

1997: Job for the Design of the new metropolitan railway for Hanover, as part of the Expo 2000, the first car receives the iF Transport Design Award and the iF Ecology Award

산업디자이너 재스퍼 모리슨은 1959년 영국 런던에서 태어나,
영국의 킹스톤 폴리테크닉 디자인 스쿨(Kingston Polytechnic Design chool)과
로열 컬리지 오브 아트(RCA)에서 디자인을 전공했다.
영국을 비롯한 유럽 여러나라에 이름이 알려진 재스퍼 모리슨은
1986년 디자인 사무실인 ‘Office for Design’을 런던에 설립하기도 했다.
1995년 하노버 엑스포 2000 전차 디자인 공모전에 당선된 바 있으며,
그 첫 전차는 1997년 하노버 산업박람회에서 선보여 호응을 얻었다.
현재 이탈리아의 알레시, 카펠리니, 마지스, 스위스의 비트라, 독일의 로젠탈
등에 디자인을 제공하고 있다.

가구를 비롯해 많은 생활제품 디자인까지...
"Design is not done with rules, but with intuition. Intuition never lies." 라고 했던
재스퍼 모리슨의 말처럼 그의 디자인은 따스한 인간의 감정과 함께 직감적이고도 감각적이다.
